![]() ![]() The story starts with letting us know that Ichinose Shiki (the mc) is a trouble maker, always making trouble for his old man and everyone around him and If it's done in a good way generic can also be good as seen from almost every new gen shounen. SO first of all the plot is very generic, but generic doesn't mean bad. So It's been a while since I started reading this and I've wanted to write a review but I just couldn't find the right words to help me convey what I feel about this manga. These seem like inherent problems with the mangaka that won't change later down the road. The fact that he's going under a different pen-name and still making the same mistakes is proof enough that it's just a waste of time to have views like "It has potential, so I'll keep reading". That way he can focus on fixing the art issues, while not having to write a story that sucks so bad. The mangaka should look into doing art exclusively, and finding a writer that is actually competent. The pacing sucks, the character writing sucks, the art has moments where the characters look too stiff, no name characters have faces drawn in a completely different style, the constant use of tropes, trying to make me sympathise with the bad guys with some really awful writing, the power system which just seems to be a weird combination of a bunch of other manga power systems in one, etc etc. this is definitely the same mangaka that made Bougyaku no Kokekko (who went under a different pen-name), and based on the reviews and criticisms, the same issues all exist in that series. But nope, it was brought to my attention by someone else that But then it suddenly changes pace from the academy, to a whole arc elsewhere before we even get time to be with the supporting cast.Īt first I didn't mind it too much, thinking it was a new mangaka (with their first series), who has a chance to improve. The first few chapters almost gave me mixed vibes between TG, BBB and Blue Exorcist. At first I was enjoying the art and I liked the MC, I'm not too fussed about generic MC's like that. Just got done reading all of the current chapters. Before Shiki can avenge his father, he must learn to control his headstrong and impulsive nature and, above all, fight against his own demonic blood. Shiki's momentary outburst attracts the attention of Naito Mudano, an Oni teacher at the Rakshasa Academy-an institution for young Oni in need of understanding and perfecting their powers. As he gives up his life to save Shiki and confesses everything in his dying breath, Shiki's Oni blood awakens for the first time, transforming him into an unruly monster overflowing with rage and a thirst for revenge. As a Momotarou himself, Tsuyoshi has been hiding Shiki for years and keeping his Oni origins a secret even from him. Tsuyoshi's selfless love is soon shown in an explosive incident when a Momotarou barges in looking for Shiki. Despite Shiki's rebellious attitude, his foster father, Tsuyoshi, cares about him deeply. Shiki Ichinose is a reckless and irresponsible teenager, aware of his defiance and even proud of his expulsion from school. The Oni are careless, rash, and disorderly, while the Momotarou protect the human world from the uncontrollable Oni.
